CLUB SANTIAGO
ABOUT CLUB SANTIAGO
Club Santiago is a quiet residential community with cobblestone streets situated on Playa Miramar, a 25 minute drive from Manzanillo International Airport. Playa Miramar is a 3-mile long beach perfect for long walks and jogging and one of the best beaches in the area, it offers waves high enough for surfing at one end and a calm beach for safe swimming at the other end.
Miramar Beach is a very special place, no over-crowded high-rises or condos and no beach vendors. Exotic flowers, colorful bougainvilleas, fruit trees and giant palm trees adorn houses and cobblestone streets.
The beach offers everything from surfing and great snorkeling to scuba diving on the sunken ship and nearby reef. For those interested in fishing, Manzanillo is called “The Sailfish Capital of the World” and several international fishing tournaments take place throughout the year. Open markets for fresh vegetables and seafood are located right off the main coastal highway within minutes from Club Santiago, a mini-market is conveniently located inside the community within a short walking distance.
The beachfront El Oasis Restaurant inside the community offers casual service at very reasonable prices under a huge palapa (thatched roof) with breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains, the beach bar is open daily with service at the bar or at lounges set in the sand.
Fresh seafood oceanside restaurants are located in Playa La Boquita at the end of the Bay and open markets where you can shop for locally made souvenirs. Fishing, snorkel, scuba, banana boat rides are some of the water sports available in Club Santiago. Flocks of water birds offer a treat to wildlife enthusiasts.
Club Santiago has its own golf course and 3 other world-acclaimed golf courses are located in the nearby area; the challenging Las Hadas, Isla Navidad 27-hole championship course designed by Robert Von-Hagge and the spectacular El Tamarindo, a 2,000 acre ecological preserve. Manzanillo has remained a relatively hidden retreat along the Mexican Riviera, a sleeper compared with other Mexican beach destinations and an advantage for travelers seeking peaceful, relaxing vacations; at the same time, Manzanillo offers some of the most amazing and exclusive accommodations, all type of water sports and the most inviting beaches with deliciously warm waters and spectacular sunsets.
There are beaches for every taste; long stretches of creamy sand, crescents of soft gold and black volcanic grains, secluded coves and pristine shores accessible only by boat. Manzanillo has a delightful laid-back ambiance combined with excellent climate and it’s the ideal point from which to launch further explorations north to the primitive coastal villages or the ultra luxurious hidden retreats.
